Front End UX Developer

About the Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a talented Front End / UX Developer to join the Beginning Boutique team. This role is focused on providing our customers with the best online shopping experience possible. To achieve this you will be required to:

  • Utilise your UX experience to plan, execute and report on a split testing program
  • Apply your Responsive Design knowledge to design and build innovative solutions
  • Use Google Analytics to identify goal conversion issues
  • Design and building campaign pages, EDMs, digital marketing assets and online advertising campaigns
  • Take a proactive approach to new usability and technology trends
  • Content manage, prepare and generate assets, text and other media
  • Assist with project estimates and maintain deadlines

About You

  • 2+ years as a Front End / UX Developer
  • An understanding of the importance of user experience, design, usability and IA
  • Solid experience with front end development technologies and frameworks e.g. HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Modernizr, Prototype, Bootstrap
  • Experience with split testing tools e.g. Optimizely, VWO
  • Knowledge of PHP and core Magento functionality
  • Version Control (preferably GIT)
  • Experience designing for web with a mobile first mindset
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop & Illustrator)
  • Experience managing Linux hosting and databases not essential but highly regarded


To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to constantly review and improve the customer experience



Warehouse Staff Holiday Casual 

We are looking for a new team member to assist in our warehouse.  You need to have a keen eye for detail and know how important it is to get what you ordered right on time!  Rosters would start November and end start of January.

Product Internship

Want to up your skills in buying and product knowledge? We need someone to assist with uploading, steaming, organising and describing our products! You will get to work with our team to help get our product on site.  This position needs to run through a university and is 90 hour unpaid internship that ends with the course requirement or needs to be undertaken by the student as experience learning with the same hours.  We require 1 day a week and are looking for 2 interns this semester.

We need you to come with: 

  • Mac proficency
  • Some photography skills - very basic 
  • Great time management skills
  • A willingness to learn
  • A willingness to do everything 
  • excel spreadsheet ability - basic sums and organisatoin

Our ideal candidate must possess the following: A Fashion Design student or recent graduate studying at an Australian Education Institute or University
Knowledge and understanding of pattern making and garment fitting
Mac proficientAdobe Creative Suite - specifically Adobe Illustrator
Has experience CAD tech sketching to an industry standard
Passionate and creative about all things fashionHighly motivated, proactive and can work independently
Has a fun, positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to provide quality work
Available to commit 1 day per week for a 3 month period
